Oh dear, Maintenance Mode! March 06, 2023

Well well well. It's been a while, hasn't it? ARCHBLOX has been dead for around 5 months now, but now.. The site is back! Well.. not as it used to be, as it is in the BRAND-NEW Maintenance Mode!

While ARCHBLOX is in Maintenance mode, you cannot use the site as you usually can. You can only access the Blog, or the Download page. Making game servers is impossible and Studio functionality is limited (as if you were using it offline.)

We're still updating the website behind the scenes, though! We've added a new theme, Automatic, which changes between Dark or Light mode depending on the time of day! Cool, huh? We've also added a new loading icon, updated some text, finally re-enabled sign up, and removed that ANNOYING banner about not changing any data!

If you're worried about your user data, then don't worry! I still have a copy of the database lying around. It will be restored once ARCHBLOX leaves maintenance mode.

Well, that's all for now. ARCHBLOX will be back soon, so be patient!

Introducing the Games Page! (and some other minor stuff) August 28, 2022

It's been over two months since ARCHBLOX has been created, and finally, the Games Page has been added. Right now you can only play one game, Natural Disaster Survival, made by the ARCHBLOX account. Since you cannot join other players' servers from the website yet, here's some information on how to join another persons game.

Joining someone else's game

Step 1:

Ask the game hoster if they are using a service like Hamachi or RADMIN VPN. If they are using it, ask them for their network name and network password. if they're using the ARCHBLOX server on RADMIN VPN, here's the login details:

Network: ARCHBLOX

Password: werestillMorb1n

Once connected to their RADMIN/Hamachi server, ask them for their RADMIN/Hamachi IP Address, NOT their public one, the port they're hosting the server on and then follow Step 2.

----

If they aren't using any service like RADMIN or Hamachi, they'll need to Port Forward the port they used when hosting the server. They can port forward by entering their Router Settings and adding a UDP port with the port number of their server. If you use Discord, please turn off Rich Presence or go into Invisible mode, as the other users Public IP can be shown in ARCHBLOX's Rich Presence.

Once connected to their server, ask them for their Public IP Address, the port they're hosting the server on, and then follow Step 2.

Step 2:

Once you have received the Port and IP Address of the server, you'll need to open the ARCHBLOX Launcher. Click on 'Join' and then enter the IP Address and Port in the respective fields. If all goes well, you should join. If you get an error message, join our discord and check the #errors channel for known errors/bugs.

Hosting a game that isn't Natural Disaster Survival

Open ARCHBLOX Launcher and then click on 'Host'. You should now see a menu showing a port option and a place file option. Fill in the port field with a port you would like to host a server on (53640 is the default and recommended port to use, but you can use any port you wish). Then, select a place file by pressing the Browse button. (If you don't know what a place file is, just use the site to host at this point). Place files must be converted to the XML place format before using them in ARCHBLOX. Once you have selected a place file and entered a port, click Host. You should now be hosting a server. Make sure to allow connections with Windows Firewall (the popup that opens when you first open a server) or people won't be able to join your game.

To join your own server, click here and click on the 'click here' text on the Alert, or go back to the main menu in the ARCHBLOX Launcher, click 'Join' and then enter 'localhost' in the IP section, and enter the port you used for your server in the port section. If you get an error message, join our discord and check the #errors channel for known errors/bugs.

Well, that's all. If you haven't noticed already, the Build button now opens ARCHBLOX Studio, if you have it installed. Well, that's all the time I have for today so have fun playing the Video Game(s)!

Some new thingies! (and stuff) August 26, 2022

The Classic theme has been modified to be similar to ROBLOX's 2012 site, and has a new font to go with it! There's also a new fancy counter to count your collection (or lack thereof) of ARKOTs! Most button CSS has been left alone, though. I'll get back to explain more updates soon!

What's the Theme for Today? July 24, 2022

You heard me right, there are themes now!

So far, it's just the classic ARCHBLOX theme and a bad very unfinished 2018 theme. I hope to see more themes in the future, but for now, I think I'll just stick to Stylus. Now get theming! (or not, if you don't want to.)
